Endeavour Aged Care

Endeavour is a recently completed new Residential Aged Care Facility that replaces an out of date existing facility. The main challenge for this project was to ensure the sympathetic integration within the residential context of its surrounds.

The scale and bulk of this 2/3 storey, 75 bed facility has been broken down into three north facing wings that reduces the bulk and scale to smaller building forms and therefore blends into the existing residential surrounds. This breaking down of the built form allows for in between courtyards that connect the building and make it a whole. The deep stepping into these north-facing courtyards allows for abundant natural light and cross ventilation to flow deep into the building creating light, open and invigorating living spaces that inevitably improve the life the residence.
